HeLP® (Hemorrhoid Laser Procedure) and LHP® (Laser Hemorrhoido Plasty): biolitec®“s innovative hemorrhoids laser treatment – For more information, please visit: info-hämorrhoiden.de/en

Jena, 19 December 2013 – Hemorrhoids are blood vessel-filled vascular pads all human beings have. If these pads are enlarged or sag, they may cause pain. Respective symptoms are anal bleeding, wetting and racking itchiness. According to estimated figures, more than 50% of all men and women above 50 years of age suffer from hemorrhoids. The nearly painless laser treatment methods HeLP® and LHP® are gentle alternatives to traditional surgery. HeLP® laser treatment is suited for treating 2nd degree hemorrhoids while method LHP® is applied for more severe hemorrhoid problems (3rd to 4th degree). In contrast to common therapies, in laser treatment hemorrhoids are internally treated with laser beams in a controlled manner. They are purposefully contracted and shrunk instead of being removed. The anal canal´s anatomical structure is thus retained, the sensitive anal mucosa is barely affected and the sphincter´s tissue remains intact. Large wounds – as suffered if hemorrhoids are removed by conventional surgery – are avoided. All the patient will have to bare is one small puncture per hemorrhoid. The use of foreign material such as clamps can also be spared. Additionally, the formation of conjunctive tissue is stimulated, which prevents further hemorrhoid sagging. The patient´s continence is not impaired and quick recovery is ensured. The treatment can also be performed under short anesthesia or regional anesthesia, in individual segments also under local anesthesia. Patients who hold a valid health insurance will usually get the costs related to the in-patient laser treatment reimbursed. Any other procedures such as surgery or the use of elastic bands are not required.
