European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress (ESMO): Delcath Systems verkündet aktualisierte Ergebnisse der Testphase 3 im Bereich der Chemosaturation für Melanom-Lebermetastasen

Daten vom März 2011 bestätigen überzeugenden Behandlungseffekt des Chemosaturation-Verfahrens

NEW YORK und STOCKHOLM, 26. September 2011 – Delcath Systems (NASDAQ: DCTH), ein Medizin- und Pharmaunternehmen mit Fokus auf Onkologie, präsentiert auf der ECCO/ESMO 2011 (23. -27. September) in Stockholm die positiven Untersuchungsergebnissen der Testphase 3 bei Patienten mit hepathischen Metastasen von Augen- oder Hautmelanomen.

Der primäre Endpunkt des Hepatic Progression Free Survival (hPFS) zeigte, dass mit Chemosaturation behandelten Patienten einen Mittel-hPFS von 8,0 Monaten im Vergleich zu 1,6 Monaten mit der Best Alternative Care (BAC) haben. Das neue System Hepatic CHEMOSAT® Delivery System von Delcath Systems ist eine minimal-invasive Behandlung, die eine große Menge eines Chemotherapeutikums durch einen Katheter direkt zur Leber liefert. Das Blut, das das Organ verlässt, wird gefiltert und die Körpertoxizität gemildert.

Die wichtigsten Ergebnisse der Testphase 3 sind:
– Median Overall Progression Survival (PFS) mit Chemosaturation ist 6,7 Monaten im Vergleich zu 1,6 Monaten mit BAC.
– Hepatic Response Rate mit Chemosaturation ist 34 Prozent im Vergleich zu 2 Prozent mit BAC. Die Wachstumskontrollrate beim Tumor ist 86 Prozent.
